Our Compliance With The CAN-SPAM Act

Lanyard Technical Services L.L.C. fully adheres to the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.  The CAN-SPAM Act sets forth rules for all commercial communications (not just email).

The CAN-SPAM Act applies to all commercial messages, which the law defines as “any electronic mail message the primary purpose of which is the commercial advertisement or promotion of a commercial product or service.”  This includes email that promotes content on any commercial website. The act gives recipients specific rights to have a company stop emailing them, and spells out tough penalties for email senders who violate these rules.

Here’s how Lanyard Technical Services adheres CAN-SPAM’s main requirements...

  1. We never use false or misleading header information. Our “From,” “To,” “Reply-To,” and routing information – including the originating domain name and email address – always identifies Lanyard Technical Services L.L.C. as the company that initiated
    the message.
     
  2. We don’t use deceptive subject lines. The subject line of any email we send will always and accurately reflect the content of each message.
     
  3. We identify ad messages as ads. The Act allows a lot of leeway in how to do this, but Lanyard Technical Services will always disclose clearly and conspicuously that a message is an advertisement (if it is indeed an advertisement).  From time-to-time we may send security tips or new virus /malware notices as a courtesy to our client base and include our larger market area as well.
     
  4. We tell recipients where we’re located.  Our messages always include a valid physical mailing address.
     
  5. We inform recipients how to opt out of receiving future emails. Our messages always include a clear and conspicuous explanation of how a recipient can opt out of getting email from us in the future.
     
  6. We honor opt-out requests promptly.  We strive to honor a recipient’s opt-out request within 10 business days or less.  In addition, we never (under any circumstances) sell or transfer email addresses, even in the form of a mailing list.

     In addition, we send only clean /scanned email messages.  While not covered in the CAN-SPAM Act, we never embed spyware,
     cookies or any other type of tracking data in our web or email communications.  Lanyard Technical Services would never expose
     current or prospective clients to these unnecessary privacy and security concerns.
